Harvest Festival in Bad Hofgastein with Parade

Every 4 years in Bad Hofgastein the big Harvest Festival takes place, organized by the "Landjugend Gastein" together with the local farmers. During a holy mass, brought gifts such as fruits, vegetables, bread, cheese, butter, and also the large harvest crown are blessed. This is followed by a grand parade with about 40 beautifully decorated floats - each representing a different important station of the agricultural year.

The parade begins with sheep, cows, and goats symbolizing the descent from the alpine pastures. Then come the whip-crackers, local music, followed by a magnificent horse-drawn carriage with the mayor and his wife, as well as respected farmers in local traditional attire, dignitaries, and local associations. After that, many floats from craftsmen representing long-forgotten and no longer practiced trades. Everywhere there is music, singing, and laughter - the Harvest Festival has a wonderful atmosphere!

Program:

• 08:30 AM: Arrival of the harvest crown at the parish church in Bad Hofgastein with festive mass.
• 12:00 PM: Start of the parade at the carpentry shop Höhenwarter. The decorated harvest floats are expected around 
• approximately 1:00 PM presentation of the decorated harvest floats in front of the Alpentherme.
• 5:00 PM: End of the parade.
• From 5:00 PM: The Landjugend Gastein cordially invites you to the traditional harvest ball at the New Fire Station in Bad Hofgastein. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Hodalump´n. 

The Landjugend Gastein looks forward to numerous spectators along the parade route as well as many guests at the harvest ball!
