This shaded, beautiful walk next to the stream leading to Angertal valley head is even doable with a pram. At the rustic gold-panning hut, you can try your hand at an old-fashioned way to boost your holiday budget. Soon we head deeper into the forest, to the lovingly recreated Miners’ World. The wood structures were unearthed during excavations, restored and rebuilt true to the originals. On display are smelters for gold ore (15th/16th cent.) as well as an ore processing plant. Multi-lingual info boards provide background facts about gold mining in Gastein valley and the early-industrial mining center which has been rebuilt here.
