Ice stock sport in winter has a long tradition in Gastein and is very popular. The aim is to place your own stock as close as possible to the target puck or, with a bit of skill, to push the opponents’ stocks out of position. The sport is quick to learn, requires very little equipment, and appeals to all ages. Sociability, good spirits, and a true winter atmosphere are guaranteed.
Ice stock sport in summer has established itself as an affordable and popular sport. In addition to the wide range of leisure activities offered at four facilities in the Gastein Valley, competitive sport also plays an important role. On the asphalt lanes, ice stock athletes compete in regional and supra-regional championships, where technique, concentration, and tactical play are decisive. Ice stock sport combines tradition with sporting ambition and is a fixed part of club sports in the Salzburg region.
Asphalt lanes are available throughout the entire valley, and in winter additional ice rinks are created.
