The rustic Planitzenhütte (1740m) is located in the area of Rastötzenalm, high above Bad Hofgastein. Here you will be spoiled with home-made alpine products, such as a "Gasteiner Kletzenbrot" with farm butter and cheese. For the children, the alpine pastures and the small mountain stream offer many opportunities for exploration, romping and playing.
The alpine hut can be reached from the center of Bad Hofgastein via the Annencafe, in a leisurely two-and-a-half hour hike, but also for mountain bikers the Planitzenalm is a worthwhile excursion destination.
If you still feel like doing more and want to reach a beautiful mountain peak, then go on for about 2-3 hours on the Gamskarkogel (2467m).
