The Bockhartseehütte is located at the lower Bockhartsee on 1950m above the Böcksteiner Nassfeld (Sportgastein) and can be reached in about 1 hour from the parking lot in Sportgastein. An alternative and very popular hike to Bockhartsee takes about 4.5 hours walking time from the top of the Stubnerkogel gondola lift over the "Zittrauertisch" and the "Miesbichlscharte".
There are hot and cold delicacies for the big and small hunger, wild specialties from own hunting, homemade bread and home-made flour dishes.
